Loyola University Chicago athletic director, M. Grace Calhoun, will become the director of recreational and intercollegiate athletics at the University of Pennsylvania.

In her three years at Loyola, Calhoun has been credited with the transformation of the Ramblers’ athletic department.

Calhoun oversaw Loyola’s shift from the Horizon League to the Missouri Valley Conference and hired all-time great Sheryl Swoopes as the head women’s basketball coach.

The Ramblers currently have the top ranked men’s volleyball team in the country and have produced four Track & Field All-Americans since Calhoun’s arrival.

Current Penn AD, Steve Bilsky is set to retire on June 30th and Penn Provost, Vincent Price, made the announcement today that Calhoun will step in on July 1st.

Penn News has the story here.
